I just wanted to note that the Paradox reprint in Ann Landers this weekend
came from a woman in Kansas who downloaded it from the internet.

Eva - i did chortle reading "paradox of our times" in the
local press
(Denver Post) bound in the Ann Landers column today - sent in by a
subscriber from Lawrence, Kansas. there was no attribution to the
jeremiad, just the usual muted moral exhortations.
what struck me most about your last posting is the ubiquity of
american
culture that seeps into every nook and cranny around the world - one
friend in Riga two weeks ago noted his own difficulty working in art with
the ever present looming America - an _irresolvable tension_ i think -
though that thought is no doubt evidence of my own limitations - how
does one resist and then refute american hegemony?
