November Griots

'All power to the Griots', of course recalling the revolutionary 'All power
to the Soviets', was meant apropos of the fantasy of a revolution against
an alienating, over-scaled culture mediated by paper. Griots are African
bards whose oral histories, genealogies, etc. mediate heterochronically
across generations in more modestly scaled societies.
