I agree with your point about the lack of representation in the
news for violence with youth in inner cities. Marc was trying to highlight
the "visibility" of shootings committed by white youth in his note.
As for your comment about the interests of people in Montana,
though I've read and reread this comment again and again, it still seems
like a personal cut. Do you have a sense of humor that is very dry and is
this an attempt at "cyber teasing"? If not, maybe we should continue in
personal emails to each other.
Either way, the students I work with are killing each other, they
tend to be from rural homes or homeless, and many of them are Native
American although the majority of them are white. This violence is
occurring everywhere; our media representation "creates" the slice of the
epidemic that we see.
