Thanks, Judy, for the encouraging words. There are issues that Martin (via
Eva's forward) raises w.r.t. the design of online environments, and that I
have fermenting. AND THEN, I followed Eva's lead and compiled data to
graph participation in mailing lists for two on-line courses at lesley.
The results are surprisingly consistent, and the differences between course
and xmca participation are intriguing. I'll never think of participation
the same way. These graphs are on a web page:
