XCMA,

*Monthly Papers*

As mentioned in a previous message, one of the changes to the "paper
archive" on the Mind, Culture and Activity website is to highlight an XCMA
members paper on a monthly basis. Below is some general information of
how, at present, we see the format of a collective reading proceeding, and
a schedule of XCMA members who have been invited/vollunteered to
participate.

About once a month a message will be sent to XCMA letting the communty know
that a member's paper is on the "paper archive" web page for a collective
reading and discussion. Throughout the month the paper can be accessed at:
http://communication.ucsd.edu/MCA/index.html by clicking on the "paper
archive" button. The author of the paper will serve as discussion leader
by answering questions, clarifying points, and fielding additional
questions if needed.

Eva Ekeblad has been invited to begin (Sept-Oct) with her papers on the
dynamics of multilogue on the xlists.

Jay Lemke will follow in November with a paper on "multiple timescale
analysis for human social activities and institutions".

In order to make this activity of XCMA a success, we need a continual flow
of members willing to participate. We need XCMA members who are willing to
submit papers for a community reading and discussion. We are attempting to
organize a schedule several months into the future, so anyone willing to
participate can email me offline.
