Jaan Valsiner has written on various uses of the zone metaphor and its
temporal aspects. Yrjo Engestrom has a broad definition of zoped that comes close
to thinking about life long, or at least long timespan, events as zopeds. Of course,
the endpoint of life, and individual development is, uh, death. Which raises various
interesting questions of its own.
