Subj: A request

Does anybody know of any work which looks at the connections between
features of children's culture and the type of play in which children
engage? More specifically, is there any work describing the ways in which
features of oral traditions appear in children's play? We would appreciate
it greatly any help you can offer. Thanking you in advance,

What a great field this is !
I'm not sure how you plan to restrict your search.

I suppose you know the classic "Lore & language of schoolchildren"
by Opie & Opie (1959) ?

A delightful collection of Zambian child folklore is still buried in a
PhD dissertation in Quenn's University, Belfast:

M'tonga, Mapopa (1985). Children's games and plays in Zambia.

Can you tell us a bit more about how deeply you plan to problematize the
"ways" and "features" of you inquiry ?
