Hello everyone!
I am a Ph. D. student in the Program Educational Technology in
Education, a pioneer program in Latin America in this area. It is
interdisciplinary in nature involving psychology, sociology, education and of
course technology (more specifically computers).
A little bit about my origins - I was born in El Salvador, Central
America and lived for some years in California on the campus of Stanford
University when my parents were grad students back in the 70's. I went back to
that university in the 90's as a Master student myself.
My placework has been the School of Education at the Federal University
of Rio Grande do Sul, southern part of Brazil. I work at a Center of Research
on Computers in Education in Elementary and Secondary level but more
specifically in Special Ed.
I am looking forward to get in touch with people who are insterested in
understanding education and the processes involved. At the moment my main
interests are: Computer Mediated Comunication, Learning , Peer learning, social
aspects of learning, interactivity using technology, special education and
computers.
I am looking forward to see how this lists works and who the members
are.
