Query-Addendum from David Dirlam:
I found Katie's review to be almost a new genre of book review --
an emergent result of careful questioning. Obeying classic suspense form,
Katie treats us to an intellectual thriller, where we readers get stalked
by an unknown idea, creeping ever closer, until in the last paragraphs, in
a brilliant flash, it leaps off the page.

After my heart stopped pounding, I was left with a knotty query
that needed the xmca collective oracle even to begin disentanglement. I
think my query may require much empirical work and modeling to unravel,
but I know that xmca'ers who find Katie's proposal as exciting as I did
will help me to see the threads better. The query is...
How would supply and demand change as a result of Katie's
proposal?
