This response doesn't directly address the request but, what about
publications that propose that schooling is a reflection of the
white, middle class male. E.g., Giroux, McLaren, etc. These view
may also be reflected in feminist writings. What about literary
'ideal' adults as complex, troubled and weird, eg Catcher in the Rye.
