I wonder, too, to what extent we can talk about "mission" of the library
and Boy's club without also talking about physical spaces and other
material aspects of these settings. Can we limit this discussion to the
"rules" aspect of the activity systems? Spaces and tools were hinted at in
the Nicolopoulou and Cole chapter (1993) but I've often wondered more about
this.
