Your testimony "from the front" is greatly appreciated. The picture
of the norm has changed little since the 1980's, but you confirm the
presence of alternative practices and also lend some support to Francoise's
"developmental" trajectory.

Francoise-- Especially because we work with computers afterschool in
instittions that generally cannot afford the high end stuff (cast
offs) I am sensitive to the insidiousness of unnecessary upgrading and
the continued value, WHEN THE SOCIAL CONTEXT IS PROPERLY ORGANIZED, of
the Apple 2e.

No one has mentioned Papert's work. Does it fail to influence?
