For one of my undergraduate courses, I plan to use
_Language Development: A reader for teachers_,
(Eds: Brenda Power & Ruth Hubbard), Prentice Hall, 1996 ---

It's divided into 3 parts: "Historical Perspectives & Landmark
Studies" with readings by Vygotsky, Piaget, Chomsky, Gardner,
Halliday, Labov, Heath, & some others;
"Talk in Schools" with readings by Goodman, Cazden, Dyson,
Chochran Smith, Chang-Wells, and others;
"Sociocultural & Personal Perspectives" with readings by
the Scollons, Michele Fine, Deborah Tannen, Michael Berube, & others.
