SSA panel on Vygotsky: Details and deadlines

I finally have all the information we need for the Semiotic
Society of America meeting. The meeting will be in Santa
Barbara, CA on Oct 17-20, 1996. I will need an abstract of 100
words from each author/presentation. At this time, the following
have expressed initial interest in presenting:

Chuck Bazerman
Vera John-Steiner
Mike Cole
Bill Penuel
Marie Nelson

Oh, yeah, the proposed title:
A Vygotsky Centennial: Issues and Applications of Semiotic and
Sociocultural Ideas

As you can see, the panel is wide open. I can easily put together
two sessions of 6-8 papers and if there is more interest, we can
go from there. If you are still interested, and if you are now
interested, please email me and we can put together this panel.
Deadline for abstracts is April 19, 1996 so please try to get
them to me by, lets say, April 1.

This could be very cool!
