ABSTRACT: Minority women's level of involvement in work with
advanced technology is relatively low. In this paper, foactors that
help to create this poor technological involvement are reviewed;
problems that result from it are described; and benefits that would
accrue from increasing the representation of minority women in
technology-focused positions are discussed. Some interventions that
can be used in educational and work organizations to attempt to
accomplish this are described. An agenda for new research on the
issues covered in this review is also presented.
In an attempt to get as wide a response as possible, I have sent this
message across several network. I apologize if you receive multiple
copies of this message. Thank you for your consideration of this
matter. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Urs E. Gattiker
