Eva, I don't know about the implications of mentorship that you
mention. I think that to become an adult one has to severe the
both primary and secondary bonds (that is with parents and
teachers). But that doesn't mean that one does not continue to be
inspired and to learn and even to seek such mentorship in a sort
of illusionary way.
Hiroaki, I am delighted that the postal service was so swift to
accomodate you. Yes, as mentioned previously, I would be much
interested in receiving copies of your current work (in English as
I am sorry to say I am illiterate in Japanese).
Vera, THank you for your message. Yes, now I understand much
better both the term cognitive pluralism that was in your MCA
article and the problem with the word speech. Factoring in
cultural differences, I still think though that one aspect of what
makes us all human is the fact that we do have language, whatever
the forms of expression and cognizing. And to backtrack on the
issue of "transformation" without language, I think that one
hesitates because there is no way to know without language. There
may be silence and in silence the unspeakable, but unspeakable it
is. Francoise Francoise Herrmann fherrmann who-is-at igc.org
