After reading Jay Lemke's response to Mike's invitation to participate in
an experimental book review of Contexts for Learning, I realized that
many of you may not have easy access to the book. If there is sufficient
interest, I will try to make it easier for potential reviewers to order
the book directly from Oxford and get a discount. Unfortunately it is
not in paperback but Oxford is currently considering a paperback edition.
If you are interested in reviewing one chapter, please let me know
and I will find out how to get the book to you quickly and easily.
By the way Jay, I would guess that you would be particularly interested
in several of the chapters--especially those by Cazden and Packer. :-).
Several chapters address the issue of educational reform--a topic that
has been on the minds of a number of xmca folks recently.
