I very faintly recall some work that came to exactly this conclusion.
Immigration patterns, School Curriculum, Political moments, etc. to shift
in cyclical patterns that are surprisingly regular - not surprisingly
tied to economic phenomenon. Does anyone have a pointer to this work?
Sorry I'm too swamped and I've forgotten too much to even know where to look.
