Mike,
I certainly have not figured out "all the different flavors of
anti-cartesianism" but I have long been concerned with the issue.
Recently, neuroscientists have been involved in this issue as well.
Damasio, Edelman, some of the complexity theorists have addressed
body/brain/mind relationships in anti-cartesian ways. We havw bwwn asked
to do an epistomologically oriented chapter for the Educational
Psychologist (and to contrast sociocultural approaches with constructivist
ones. So I am definitely an interested party in this discussion. I hope
it will take off.
