Position:

Tenure Track Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have a Ph.D. or ABD in developmental psychology or
developmental science.

Salary:

Competitive

Responsibilities:

Duties may include teaching undergraduate courses in adolescent
development, emerging adulthood and aging, a graduate course in learning
theories, and introductory courses in psychology and in our general
education curriculum. The possibility for the candidate to develop a course
in his or her area of interest is available. The position requires a
demonstrated record or evident potential for effective teaching and for
maintaining a strong program of research that involves students in
meaningful ways.  The ability to secure extramural funding is desirable. We
have several graduate assistants available to support research efforts and
an excellent university Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, and
start-up funding is negotiable.
We are especially interested in candidates who will enhance the diversity
of our department.

University:

UW-Whitewater is a premier public regional university with an enrollment of
over 12,000 students in 50 undergraduate majors and 11 master's degree
programs.  It offers high-quality, career oriented programs with a model
general education curriculum.

Community:

Whitewater, a city of over 14,000, is located in southeastern Wisconsin
near the scenic Kettle Moraine State Forest.  The immediate area offers a
wide variety of summer and winter recreational activities, including
facilities of the nearby Whitewater Lake recreational area.  Whitewater is
50 miles from Milwaukee, 45 miles from Madison, and 110 miles from Chicago.
