The first thing you should do is walk around our ActiveWorld: fifthdim. Try walking with the ARROW keys, flying by using the + and - on the number pad, and running by holding down CONTROL key while using the ARROW keys.

EVERYTHING IS AN OBJECT! Walk to an object and click on it with the RIGHT mouse button. A small window will tell you the name of the object, how to move it, how to copy it, and other stuff.

First, make a copy of something by using one of the buttons from the small window. Now go to the Object List and find the name of another object you want to build. Put the name of the new object into the name part of the small window and hit ENTER. That's how you build. YOU MAKE NEW THINGS BY MAKING COPIES OF OLD THINGS AND CHANGING THEM. Just make sure you don't wreck someone else's work!

MAKE SURE TO PRACTICE A LOT!!! For now, make 5 NEW objects by making copies of other objects and have the undergrad give you a BEGINNER.

COOL! Now you are ready to start building! You already know how to build OBJECTS. Now we should practice positioning and moving stuff. This will be pretty hard, but practice makes perfect! Go to one of the objects you already built and RIGHT CLICK it. See the arrow buttons at the top of the small window? Those will move your object up, down, left, right, towards you and away. It also helps you turn things. Try putting things in different positions. Cool, huh?

This part is tricky. Go to the Object List again. There are ways to add special effects to the objects. The webpage will show examples of how to use them. Put your code in the ACTION section of the small window and hit ENTER. Try these 4 specials effects:

TEXTURE

WARP or TELEPORT

ROTATE

ACTIVATE

Now that you know how to position you objects, build a small house for yourself. Try using the texture effect to make everything match if it does not already. Have the undergrad give you a GOOD!

Now you have all the experience you need to build something awesome! Remember that anything is possible if you just think about using shapes in really smart ways. Here's how you can get an EXCELLENT: Use the internet to find lots of pictures of a really cool looking building. Now try to make your own version of it. Make sure you add lots of details and some special effects to make it your own.
