Re: [xmca] Re: Shocking treatment of Professor Ian Parker at Gaskell MMU Manchester, UK

Here's a short article in Times Higher Education about Parker's suspension: http://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/story.asp?sectioncode=26&storycode=421442&c=1. Here's a link to the full letter about protest efforts, from student China Mills: http://southernpsychologies.wordpress.com/2012/10/06/protesting-ian-parkers-suspension/.

And here's a Lord of the Rings meme photo related to his suspension (http://memegenerator.net/instance/27933805):

Obviously, information regarding the suspension is scarce, and as far as I can tell Ian Parker himself has either chosen not to or been told not to comment. This makes it hard to know what's going on, although it seems to me that secrecy and silence surrounding an institution's labor and suspension practices are generally bad for everyone.
