RE: [xmca] Idea for roundtable discussion at AERA

Thanks, Martin. I'm sorry you won't be attending. After looking at your book I was thinking you should do a professional development course for the SIG. Anyway, this looks like a good book that I will have to read.

Monica, I won't be attending AERA, but last year I published a book that, while it is not *explicitly* adopting a CHAT framework is I think entirely compatible. It reviews the current state of ethnographic fieldwork, grounded theory, phenomenology and hermeneutics, and the final third explores different approaches to research with an emancipatory interest.

Does anyone have work that speaks to the effort of researchers to work in praxis, agents of change in the constraints of the academic institutions and as people living real lives? How the efforts of researchers crafting their research might be related to exploring the theme of the conference, which is poverty?
