Re: [xmca] ISCAR

I was hoping, Beartrice, that we could add them to the CHAT collection on vimeo.com:

Yes, once the camera was turned then we get the audio and video. I turned
on my video capture software in time to pick up the end of the 9am session,
all of the 10am session and the award to Mariance Hedegaard. But then when I
looked at the file (which has to be rendered, a time-consuming process) I
find that I am only capturing the audio. The video is all black. Something
to do with the software used to stream the live video. I record the "screen"
which seems to capture things which are displayed within the browser window,
but not what gets displayed in the windows media player. So the capturing is
no good.

Elinor Ochs is from linguistic/cultural anthropology, which I think may be
seen to be hostile to to study of language: that we stand on the same
platform as her is a testament to the breath and width of CHAT, but does
leave me puzzled. Yes, she does try to rescue language.

Very clear shots of ppt slides and the speakers.

Is that on a Mac or Windows machine, Haydi? And can you provide the
address
of the site where you downloaded Television Fanatic?

Haydi,

As I understand it (and I am not at all involved in the organization of

this) the video should display in a browser window. Using Safari I get
the
error I described in the previous message. Using Firebox I get the
following
message: "The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -19160.)."

Dear all

From your messages , it's not clear if you have any picture yourselves

.
The following is what I have at hand . Is this a matter of the speed of
our internet or some other technical problem such as flaws in our whole
communication systems .

[[Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you are trying to play,
burn, or sync an item that is in your library, the item might point to a

Hi Andy,

Greetings from Rome! 9-11am here is 5-7pm back home in Melbourne. The
website is http://www.iscar2011.org/eng/**info_iscar.php<http://www.iscar2011.org/eng/info_iscar.php>

It would be great if you can work out how to record them.

Ciao!

All is quiet on xmca, presumably because many of us are at the ISCAR

wouldn't
