RE: [xmca] Dialogue on Concepts Part 1 Released!



My initial reaction: nicely done!! The format as well as the discussion was
definitely enjoyable. I enjoyed hearing your voices rather than just seeing
them as I usually do on the list serve. I am formulating more questions and
comments on the matter presented. 

One question is about the matter of the experiment. When we are trying to
understand and the conceptual development don't the questions we choose to
use or the "blocks" and "words" limit the response of the children? How
differently would our conclusions be about what was learned if there was no
narrowing of the playing field? A second question that has always bothered
me which is particular to these chapters and subject of concept development
is the particular age-bounded specification of "adolescence" as the time
when true conceptual development can exist? Does this still ring true?
