[xmca] FW: Mary Frances Early Endowed Professorship

The UGA COE has been funded to search for the MFE professorship. The
evolving draft of the call reads in part:

The College of Education at the University of Georgia invites applications
for the Mary Frances Early Teacher Education Professorship. The Early
Professor must be eligible for appointment at the rank of Full Professor at
the University of Georgia. The ideal candidate for the Early Professorship
will be a scholar concerned with the education of traditionally marginalized
and disenfranchised K-12 students and have a vision for an innovative future
of preparing educators to be successful teachers of all students. This new
professorship is named in honor of Mary Frances Early, the first African
American graduate of the University of Georgia and an icon of civil rights
movement in Georgia. Ms. Early received her masters of music education
degree from UGA in 1962 and has been a tireless advocate of improving
teacher education and student academic achievement in Georgia while also
serving as a professor in the Music Department at Clark Atlanta University.

Search committee members are submitting names of scholars we would be really
excited about joining our faculty, scholars of color who focus on
disenfranchised students and have been involved in innovative teacher
education.
