Re: [xmca] abolish schools?

I am sympathetic to a total critique of existing schooling practices but IMHO the proposed solution is insane.

The VC of the University of Melbourne (previously an ancient historian) arrived at the idea that "World of Warfare" was a model of the university of the near future. Fortunately he left before ruining the university entirely. Mad.

The author simply gives up on what is admittedly an almost insuperable problem, trying to rectify a global social crisis in school classrooms, by abanoning resistance to the forces he is complaining about.
