Hi everyone:
I just returned from an energizing, week-long urban education immersion
experience with my grad students in Harlem. We were fortunate to have
the opportunity to work with an incredible school faculty challenging
the harmful effects of intellectual trash and social violence espoused
by Watson and others for generations. His comments provide further
evidence of the need for us to make our explorations in mind, activity,
and culture eloquent and explicit to educators and the general public as
well as the not-so-ivory tower.
