As a cogent aside, the graphic selected for the edition I have of Jack
London's THE IRON HEEL, which appeared in 1908, consists of a large, black
boot stepping on a political poster of Salvador Allende which reads "Viva
Allende" across the top. Even more interesting is the frequency with which
this novel goes in and out of print. Current available editions of the
novel are published by the relatively obscure publishing company of Lawrence
Hill Books. See attached image.
