Dear XMCA-ers and CHAT Folks,

We have an exciting Business Meeting scheduled for everyone on Mon, Apr
10 - 6:15pm - 8:15pm* *at Marriott San Francisco / Golden Gate Hall,
Section A3. The meeting will highlight Seth Chaiklin and Mariane
Hedegaard's newest book
"Radical-local teaching and learning: A cultural-historical approach",
Aarhus University Press, 2005. Needless to say, Seth and Mariane are our
key note speakers.

Another exciting event will be CH-SIG's first time ever awards
presentations to the recipients of the Life time contribution to CHAT
award, Vera John-Steiner and Mike Cole; and the Early Career
contribution to CHAT award Eugene Matusov.

Another aspect of our Business Meeting is a bit more mundane, however,
it is crucial to the way we operate as a Special Interest Group:
elections for positions.

As a reminder, the positions of *President*, *Program Chair*, and
*Treasurer* are taken up through elections that occur every two years.
The current CHAT SIG electorate asks that you begin considering
nominations for representatives for each of these positions, to be
decided by election.

Please email your nomination(s), a simple sentence will do, to Ana
(anamshane@speakeasy.net <mailto:anamshane@speakeasy.net>) Nominations
may also be submitted at the Business Meeting, we'll have some forms for
you. The voting will be conducted on the web site and you will be all
electronically summoned to the polls. The future officers will take up
their positions within the month of the AERA conference, by May 15^th 2006.

Best to you -

Ana

(Sorry if you got this 2 or 3 times -- you are on more than one list)
