Mike,

A good journal choice would be the International Reading Association's
Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy. The have a byline of
"Navigating New Literacies." It, of course, depends on the audiences
you or the authors would like to reach and/or the community you/they
would like peer feedback and review from. The IRA Journal above has a
fairly progressive, critical education theme, and they cover a fair
amount about critical uses of technology and a wider view of literacy.

But informal math and science are hot topics in other places as well.
The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) has about 5
journals related to math education (http://www.nctm.org). And my sense
is that most math educators appreciate the value of "informal math"
learning. The NSF has, of course, funded a number of informal math and
science education initiatives, so informal learning is held in
relatively high esteem.

Depending on how "researchy" the write up you have in mind is it may be
a good candidate for the NCTM's Journal for Research in Math Education
(JRME).

If this is more of an article, not necessarily academic-scholarly, it
could also be submitted as an article to ENC Focus, the magazine of the
Eisenhower National Clearinghouse of math and science education.

Just a few ideas.

In Peace,
K.
