I am glad to see that my account of Martin's research struck a cord with
others besides myself.

bb-- We have been conducting research on the practices of this university
for a long time. Does Herb Kohl or Michael Moore get human subjects approval
for their writing about real people and instituitons? Right now I figure
I could cause some serious trouble by simple accounts, for example, of
seting up premajors unrelated to majors in order to reduce student
numbers. The trick is to throw logic, statistics, and two basic bio courses
into the pre-major. Other coures would do the same thing.

Our educational policy committee doesn't even blink, even when the
disasterous inequities of such a policy are clear ahead of time
