The Institute for Learning Innovation, an Annapolis, Maryland-based
non-profit learning research and development organization focused on
understanding and promoting free-choice learning is seeking to hire two
free-choice learning researchers/evaluators. Both of these positions
are made possible by the anticipated receipt of a major National Science
Foundation grant. This grant, entitled "Assessing the Impact of a Visit
to a Zoo or Aquarium: A Multi-Institutional Research Project," is a
collaborative project with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is
designed to investigate the long-term impact of zoos and aquariums on
the public's science knowledge. This seminal investigation will involve
two in-depth studies across dozens of institutions over a three year
period.

 

Senior Researcher Full-time, permanent position for experienced,
entrepreneurial researcher/evaluator. Coordinate major, national
research study on zoo/aquarium visitor learning and participate in
variety of other research and evaluation efforts focused on
out-of-school learning. Opportunity to work with a talented team of
like-minded researchers and pursue own research interests. Opportunity
to also participate in the creation and implementation of a masters and
doctoral-level graduate program. Ph.D. plus 3-5 years experience
conceptualizing and managing research/evaluation projects, advanced
quantitative and qualitative analytic skills preferred. Salary
competitive.

 

Researcher Associate Full-time, three-year position for experienced
researcher/evaluator. Will help to implement major, national research
study on zoo/aquarium visitor learning and participate in variety of
other research and evaluation efforts focused on out-of-school learning.
Opportunity to work with other researchers and develop critical skills
and competencies in the area of free-choice learning research and
evaluation. MA/MS. plus 1-3 years experience conducting
research/evaluation projects, quantitative and qualitative analytic
skills preferred. Salary competitive.
