I am forwarding instructions on how to rid yourself of a virus that is
circulating via email. I checked my hard drive & found the virus, so I have
no doubt passed it around. Apparently, the file "sleeps" for 14 days before
doing any damage. I'm sending this to everyone I've

See below for instructions.

Hello,
I received a virus alert message from a colleague at Temple University.
You are receiving this because you appear on an e-mail list I have
stored in my
computer. Sorry for the inconvenience, but correcting this problem
should take all of 90 seconds.

I received this message notifying me I was sent an infected file that
automatically copies itself via e-mail to anyone in my address book.

Please follow the steps below to check your PC to see if you now have it
too.

When I checked my computer, it was on my C drive.

Here's the problem:

The virus (jdbgmgr.exe) is not detected by Norton or McAfee anti-virus
software. The virus sits qauietly for 14 days before damaging the
system. It is sent automatically by the messenger and by the address
book, whether or not you send e-mails to your contacts.

Here's how to fix it:

1. Go to Start and click on the "Find" or "Search" option.

2. Click on the "Files/Folders" option and type in the name:
jdbgmgr.exe

3. Be sure to search your complete C Drive

4. Click "Find Now"

5. The virus has a Teddy Bear Icon with the name jdbgmgr.exe - DO NOT
OPEN IT

6. Right click and DELETE it. It will go to the Recycle Bin.\

7. Go to the Recycle Bin and EMPTY THE RECYCLE BIN as well.

IMPORTANT

It you find this virus, you must contact all the people in your Address
Book, so they can eradicate it in their own Address Books. It is fairly
certain that everyone in your Address Book will have this virus as well.
