Judy notes
>diane, diane, what about performance? it's not the word it's the act or
>the
>word AS act....

..and i'm desperately fascinated but pressed for time,
so i'll say this -

language IS an act,
the word is an action, language is activity, performance is speech,
discussion is theatre;

social scripts are SCRIPTS

and the possibility that any one of us could "isolate" performance from
language
is, to me, "wildly presumptuous."

it's fine really to study psychology, but really,
know the limits. (what ISN'T fiction?)
