universal truths

Doris-- One of the universal truths I would question is the following:

Somebody said that there were societies (tribes) who live in the present,
always, who don't know past or future. If this were true (maybe some
anthropologist out there can confirm or disconfirm), would time still be a
"universal" truth?

The idea of unchanging societies with no future and not past does not apply
to homo sapiens and is suspect for other species.
