Socialism v Democracy

To all,

It really does appear that the result of discussing Engstrom's Learning by
Expanding has synthesized into an individual rights vs a collectivist
dialectic. I favor both systems. I understand the great gift to society if
all were treated as the same with the same access. I also understand how
individual rights have become soooooooooooo important. What would be the
result of combining the best of both worlds? Remember, within a single
moment, anything can happen. If all of the electrons of a table moved in the
same direction it is possible for that table to move on its own. Does this
mean physicists should spend their life trying to learn how to get those
electrons to move in the same direction? Why is it teachers should spend
their life trying to get students to move in the same direction?

Eric
