ON
COMMUNICATION, PROBLEM-SOLVING AND LEARNING

DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY
UNIVERSITY OF STRATHCLYDE

The Scottish Branch of the British Psychological Society

This multidisciplinary conference is an international forum for the
presentation and exchange of ideas in the fields of communication,
problem-solving and learning, and should be of interest to academics,
researchers and practitioners in the fields of psychology, communication
and information technology, artificial intelligence, management,
engineering, education and training, linguistics, anthropology and zoology.
A wide range of aspects of theory, research, methodology and applications
will be addressed.

Scientific Programme
The programme will be spread over five days from Monday June 25th - Friday
29th 2001, with a mix of symposia, individual papers, workshops and
posters.

Keynote speakers include:
Herb Clark, Stanford, USA
Robin Mason, Open University, UK
Anne-Nelly Perret-Clermont, Neuchatel, Switzerland
Barbara Rogoff, California at Santa Cruz, USA

Social Programme
There is a full social and cultural programme including a civic reception
in Glasgow City Chambers, a Conference Dinner and cabaret on board a Tall
Ship, a barbecue on the shores of Loch Lomond, and an organised tour to the
Trossachs. Participants are encouraged to bring their families and to
extend their visit by holidaying in the Scottish Highlands, and/or to
travel to London to attend the European Congress of Psychology (July
1st-6th).

These are still welcome at this time. Please submit two copies of your
submission, containing:
(i) Title
(ii) Name(s) of author(s)
(iii) First author's postal and e-mail address
(iv) Abstract of 250 words
