Hello Eric in Minnesota-- Will you be at SRCD? A nice meeting place for
xmca folk. So is AERA, but I cannot make it this year.

There was once an interesting paper by inhelder and karmiloff-smith
(I think) called, "If you want to get ahead, get a theory." I fully
agree with the following:

Not a success from
our measurements but from the clients we are supposed to be providing service
to.

But I also have questions. What is a measurement? How does a measurement
differ from whatever form it is that we find out from our clients (a
term worth a lot of discusion in itself!) constitutes a service (another
term worth interrogating).

Reading your earlier notes, I wanted to "meet" you by looking on the
XMCA members list at lchc.ucsd.edu for your self introduction. Couldn't
find it! Perhaps my problem since I am apple 2e literate at best, but
would you check to see if your self description as a member of this group
exists there? If not, and if you have a problem, contact bjones@ucsd.edu,
our genial helper and gremlin chaser, so that you get connected to the
community discusion properly.

Mean time, I think I will head south, hoping to avoid the internet.
mike
