Professor Carl,
I read recently an article of PHD Angel Pino (Unicamp/Brazil) in which he
states the urgence of a discussion related to the concept of Social in
Vygotsky. According to him, it is necessary to have in mind that the
category SOCIAL includes the category CULTURAL. So, not every social
activity is cultural but every cultural actgivity is social.

Social activity can be found in all animal kingdom but the specifically
human activity, beyond social, is necessarilly CULTURAL - and because of
this all social activity/agency (bilogical and empiric experience) usually
developed between humans are (re)dimensionated.
