Assistant Professorship in Human Development

The College of Education at Michigan State University seeks candidates for
an academic year tenure system position at the rank of Assistant Professor
in the human development area in education. The faculty member hired for
this position is expected to complement the nationally known faculty in
educational psychology and teacher education. Individuals with interests
that bridge other, development-related areas such as motivation, subject
matter learning, or sociocultural processes, are encouraged to apply. The
position will be in the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology
and Special Education. Affiliations with research centers in the college
are also possible. The appointment will begin in Fall, 2001.

Responsibilities will include conducting a program of research in areas
related to human development and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate
level.

Qualifications: (1) earned doctorate in human development or closely
related field; (2) demonstrated excellence in teaching; (3) evidence of
high quality scholarship; (4) ability to work collaboratively with college
faculty; and (5) ability to contribute to public service and outreach
efforts in education.
