It appears that Goodwin and Hughes work addresses the issue of rule
complexity at the level of language use. Did Lever address the language
patterns associated with the games or the rules of the games themselves?
I'm also wondering whether the other issue, i.e., that boys tend to play
games that involve larger groups, has been addressed as well.
