as fate would have it, upon returning home last night musing on katherine's
missive, i heard an npr report regarding how "dog" has become a term of
affection and endearment among the always lexicon-enlarging folk whose
appropriations of language become instantly re-appropriated when their
existence becomes known, as through the npr report, to the "consuming"
public...turns out that, as with so many other things, even this dogt dont
always hunt..."doggin" has long been a term of contempt and derision...with
many adjunct uses...
wanted, too, to say i didn't exclude myself from my own growing contempt
for humanity

cheers, chers
