I once asked Emilia Ferreiro, who was Piaget's doctoral student, which
was Piaget's best book. "His last one", she said. All of us who have
published over substantial periods of time find ourselves
misrepresented when authors cite our early positions as if they were
our current ones. Even worse of course is when the writer doesn't go
back to the original work but is really citing a secondary or tertiary
source.
