Arizona just adopted a phonics bill that includes a mandatory phonics
course and a phonics test for all teachers. I'm glad to see a
responsible group fighting it. We had trouble being heard in AZ though
the Democrats (the minority) did vote against the bill unlike California
where even liberal Democrats did not oppose horrendous micro-managing
legislation.
