Of possible interest on the subject of ethics, I responded
recently to a posting (on XMCA?) of an Amnesty International
petition in support of human rights.

The scripted message I sent to the designated address was

I support the rights and freedoms in the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights for all people, everywhere.

I just received the following as (I think) a response to my participation.

_GRASSROOTS POSTMODERNISM: REMAKING THE SOIL OF CULTURES_ [ZED BOOKS,
1998] OFFERS A CRITIQUE OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND THEIR UNIVERSALIZATION. HUMAN
RIGHTS AND THEIR UNIVERSALIZATION ARE VIEWED AS TROJAN HORSE OF
RECOLONIZATION. PLEASE DO SEE THIS WORK, CO-AUTHORED WITH GUSTAV ESTEVA.
