Society for the Advancement of Field Theory (SAFT) invites you to the
8th International Kurt Lewin Conference, Newark NJ, September 10-13,
1998.

Call for papers
Society for the Advancement of Field Theory
and
Department of Social Welfare, Rutgers University, Newark, NJ
invite you to participate in
The VIII International Kurt Lewin Conference.

Today, at the end of the 20th century, Field Theory has relevance
in a wide variety of areas in social and
psychological theories, practice and research. These areas range
from social psychology and small group
dynamics, group leadership and conflicts between groups, to
explorations in clinical psychology,
communications, education and development. Researchers in all of
these domains use some of the basic
principles and models of Field Theory even when they are not
explicitly aware of their origins. Society for the
Advancement of Field Theory organizes bi-annual International Kurt
Lewin Conferences in order to bring
researchers from diverse areas of socio-psychological inquiry
together to share their work and thoughts. The
goal of the conferences is to open possibilities to re-integrate
methods and concepts and to offer every
participant a new perspective, a missing link, a new research
tool...

Submissions are welcome which discuss theories, implementations,
or problems regarding the following issues
(this is a non-exclusive list):

Field theoretical Approach to Social Policy and Social Work
History of Field Theory
Why the Hostile Response to Field Theory in the Early
1930s
Major Theoretical and Applied Contributions of NTL
(Bethel): 50 Year Perspective
Contributions of Field Theorists to Research Methods and
Analytical Models: 1973-1998
Cultural Psychology and Cross-Cultural Research
Activity Theory and Field Theory
What is it that is "Comparative" in Cross-Cultural
Research
Belief systems and belief construction
Theories of Development and Field Theory
Modern "Piaget" and Field Theory
Vygotsky's Cultural-Historical Approach and underlying
principles of Field Theory
Interaction between Biological, Psychological and Social
Development
Intra and Inter Group Dynamics
Conflict and Conflict Resolution in Search for World
Peace
Group Dynamics in the Work Place
Theoretical and Methodological Principles in Field Theory
Field Theoretical Approaches to Psychological and Social
Health
Community Development and Socio-psychological Health

SAFT has traditionally hosted different forms of presentations:
