We will know more in about 6 months. Dmitri Semenov will be joining
McREL and is interested in this particular area. His colleagues,
Elena Bordrova and Deborah Leong have written Tools of the Mind: The
Vygotskian approach to early childhood education, 1996, Merrill, Simon
& Schuster.

Hi, xmca-ers,

A student in my doctoral seminar is interested in CURRENT research
and theory on early LITERACY acquisition. Any new models out there?
He said something about a model informed by neurological theories
(parallel processing). Does anyone know anything about such a
thing? The student trains teachers in Reading Recovery, so he
is aware of all the classics and standard stuff.

Thanks very much to any of you who can help.

Judy
