Duquesne University School of Education -- Faculty Position Anticipated

1. Do you possess a doctoral degree in educational leadership or in a
comparable field?
2. Have you had successful experience in a school superintendency or in a
similar position?
3. Are you energized by the prospect of preparing aspiring educational
leaders for positions of responsibility in the 21st Century?

initiative and entrepreneurial action while depending on your colleagues to

applying for the position of Assistant / Associate Professor (non-tenure
stream) in the Department of Foundations and Leadership in Duquesne
University's School of Education -- "Home of the Nation's Leading
Teachers." Your responsibilities will include coordination of the new
doctoral program cohort of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Program for
Educational Leaders (IDPEL) that Duquesne University is establishing at
Shippensburg University; coordination of The Leadership Institute, an
in-house means of providing workshop, colloquium, and in-service
educational leadership programs to aspiring and in-service school leaders;
and execution of other faculty teaching, scholarship, and service
responsibilities. The successful candidate will begin work on or about 1
July 1998. An initial one-year contract will be offered to the successful
candidate to be followed by renewable three-year contracts based upon
positive performance appraisals. Compensation and University benefits are
very competitive in higher education.
