Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a research officer for the Northern Territory Education
Department in Australia and am involved in the early stages
(proposal)of a research project to investigate the impact of
geographic isolation and non-English speaking background on literacy
and numeracy standards of Northern Territory students. I am at present
searching the globe for any research evidence which shows that
increasing the resources i.e. funding has improved numeracy and/or
literacy standards. I am asking you most humbly if you would know of
any such research and if so, would you let me know about it please.
I can be contacted at this e-mail address or by fax:

e-mail: damian.smith who-is-at nt.gov.au
fax: 61 8999 5788

I thank you very much for your time.

Regards

Damian Smith
